Stuart Metcalfe

 

Mr Metcalfe completed his Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery in 1996 and by 1998 he conceived the UK’s first fully sponsored educational conference dedicated to Podiatric Surgery.  Three years later he set-up the first European cadaver training for UK Podiatric Surgeons. Since then he has affirmed collaborative links to both the University of Southampton and Manchester.  Moreover, in 2008 he was the first Podiatric surgeon to host ERASMUS podiatry students from the prestigious Karolinska Institute.   He is an elected member of the Board of the Faculty of Surgery, College of Podiatrists

 

In addition to lecturing both nationally and internationally, Mr Metcalfe served as an external advisor to NICE.   Indeed, his research to date has produced a series of publications and co-authorship of  “Injection Therapy of the Lower Limb”.   Currently, he is Clinical Head of the Dept. of  Podiatric Surgery Solihull Care Trust, which has a strong reputation for surgical training and research,  winning the Annual Clinical Governance awards for “clinical excellence” in 2008 and again in 2010.
